NN10 RUN UPDATE – CORONAVIRUS

The UK government has advised that everyone in the UK should now avoid “non-essential” travel and contact with others to fight coronavirus.  Whilst it has not issued any ban on public gatherings of any size either indoors or outdoors at this stage, the advice is to avoid non-essential contact with others, including going to sporting events.

As a result, England Athletics advises that all face-to-face activity such as club training sessions, events, competitions, club committee and face-to-face meetings, athlete camps, running groups and social events should be suspended.

Therefore, the NN10 organising committee have made the decision to postpone the NN10 event until a later date in the future once we are clearer when public events can continue.

If you have booked your place for this event, you will be refunded your entry fee via Active World Training. Please bear with us while we organise the refunds for the event.

The decision has been taken in the interests of runners, officials, coaches, volunteers, supporters. This decision is also in alignment with actions taken by the town councils to postpone any mass participation events.

We look forward to announcing the next event date as soon as possible to bring our local community back together.

We are back!

Join the NN10 Community as we meet up and enjoy a local 5k run.

We would love you to run with us on Sunday 29th March at 9am.

Our annual NN10 Rushden to Higham Ferrers 5k starts and finishes at Rushden Station and Transport Museum and aims to create a strong sense of community by attracting a cross section of local people joining in and running together socially.

Rushden and Higham Ferrers Town Councils have partnered with Rushden Lakes, Freedom Leisure, local running group, Running Buddies, East Northants Council and UK Emergency Support Services to bring this 5k run together.

Local people are invited to join others to raise funds/awareness for two important local causes, Rushden Railway Heritage & Community Space and Higham Ferrers Community Fund.

THE LOCAL CAUSES THE NN10 COMMUNITY RUN FOR…

Rushden Railway Heritage and Community Space

Rushden Historical Transport Society

In June 2017 Rushden Historical Transport Society acquired the rundown Rushden Goods Shed.

The transport society have begun a journey to restore and renovate the building and are slowly but surely transforming it into a Heritage Community Hub for use by the people of Rushden and the surrounding area.  Monies raised through this community event will help to fund continuous improvement to the building.  The Goods Shed is already proving a popular venue and was used for several community events last year including craft fairs, model railway shows and a Steampunk festival.
